New management has taken over the old Sierra Nevada resort, which was a Mammoth landmark for many years, and for the better! We loved this stop: it's right on the main drag of Old Mammoth, easy walk to restaurants, a grocery store & lots of other retail stuff. The transformed resort takes up a square block now, with its own cozy restaurant/bar, a heated pool, jacuzzi, bocci ball & cornhole green, nice walking paths, plenty of lounge chairs, great assortment of housing types. But still pretty low key & comfy, doesnt feel like you're in some ritzy joint. Deer roam the grounds. The big lobby is very cool, with an open fireplace, lots of sitting areas nearby. The place just has a nice vibe & lots of character now. Plus, they allow dogs for a single $50 fee for your whole stay (instead of the ripoff nightly fees charged by other hotels). Staff was friendly & helpful. The room was spacious & modern, very clean and bright, w/ a big bathroom. I don't ski, so I cant comment on the many other types of hostelries in Mammoth, but for a short visit this was a great place to stay, I intend to return!!

The location is perfect! We thought staying closer to the slopes would be better, but we wanted to try other parts of town since this was only our second time in Mammoth, and we loved it here! There's a Rite Aid, grocery store, restaurants and coffee shops in a 5-min walking distance, and they are all great! We got a more local experience than when we stayed at the Village. Better food and better prices :) Also the bus stop is right in front of the hotel so it's a very quick ride to the gondola. The room was clean and the hotel lobby is gorgeous and cozy enough you'd want to hang out there. And they have coffee from Mammoth Coffee available all day. They are also pet friendly (which we love) but I have severe allergies and they weren't activated, which only shows how clean they keep the place! Also the team were all very friendly and kind. We'll definitely stay again in Outbound Mammoth 🤍

Very nice room. Huge! King fireplace suite. Comfy bed and lots of pillows. View of nearby mountain and the parking lot. The receptionist recommended the 2nd floor as we wouldn't hear people walking above us--terrific suggestion. Sauna, steamroom, pool and spa were fabulous. Swam in the heated pool when it was 25 degrees outside.! The kitchenette was stocked with essentials, could have used a cutting board. TV wasn't able to find internet for streaming channels, but maintenance crew responded immediately and fixed it promptly the next day. We discovered fire pits, lovely lobby, places to hang out and rooms that we want to stay in next time after a walk around the property. Nicely done Outbound.

We liked the quiet room and very helpful and friendly service. One of the staff, Leslie, was exceptionally helpful (thank you, Leslie!).... 24-hour coffee and tea was a nice bonus. It was even fairly good coffee (and I am really picky about that). The pool and jacuzzi were great. We were there during the early part of the week so weren't able to check out the Wine Bar, Sierra Bar, or nearby crepe-and-espresso food truck (not open), but they look nice. It seems like they are still making improvements overall (e.g., landscaping) so I look forward to seeing what it will look like in the future. And this place is very dog-friendly!

Location. Walking distance to breakfast, lunch & dinner choices. Walking distance to town trails. Walking distance to bars & brewpub. Bus stop close to hotel. Lots of parking. Great staff, very friendly. Hot tub. Our room was perfect for the two of us and our dog. (King fireplace) Bed was very comfortable. Lobby area is awesome. You can sit by the fire and order from the wine bar. (closed on certain days) Any concerns with room issues (wifi, heated toilet seat not working, fireplace did not light) were attended to immediately. And Leslie at the desk was lovely! Our girl loved her. (Doggy treats every time we went by)
